Dallas Police responded to a shooting call on March 31, 2024, at approximately 3:25 p.m. in the 2500 block of 56th Street in Southeast Dallas (near S. Lancaster Rd and E. Ledbetter Dr). The incident resulted in the death of 31-year-old Denzel Branch.
According to the preliminary investigation, Branch was shot following a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical confrontation with 30-year-old Joshua Andrews.
Dallas Fire Rescue transported Branch to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Andrews, who had left the scene, later surrendered himself to Southeast Patrol. He has been charged with Murder and is currently held at the Dallas County Jail.
