On Monday, April 1, 2024, the Abilene Police Department and the Abilene Independent School District took swift action after being alerted to a threat against Abilene High School students and faculty via social media.
Authorities, alongside school administrators, immediately launched an investigation to identify the source of the threat. Their efforts culminated in the late afternoon when officers apprehended a juvenile suspect linked to the incident.
In accordance with the law, the identity of the juvenile remains undisclosed due to their age. However, the individual will face a State Jail Felony False Alarm charge under Texas Penal Code 42.06.
