Michael Mango

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, at around 6:26 p.m., the Keller Police Department rushed to a scene of a collision involving a pickup truck and a teenage pedestrian. The incident occurred close to the 400 block of Bear Creek Parkway.

Upon arrival, emergency responders found a 14-year-old female jogger lying unconscious on the road. She was transported to Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Grapevine, where she is currently in critical but stable condition.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 67-year-old Michael Mango from Ferris, Texas, stayed at the scene and cooperated with law enforcement. However, following an examination of the situation, Mango was arrested for Intoxication Assault with Vehicle Causing Serious Bodily Injury. He was then taken into custody and booked into the Keller Regional Detention Facility.

Initial findings from the investigation indicate that the pickup truck was traveling at a high speed in the westbound direction along Bear Creek Parkway and failed to yield to the pedestrian in the crosswalk.

The investigation into the incident is still ongoing. Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward and assist the investigation. Detective Wright can be reached at 817-743-4535 or via email at hwright@cityofkeller.com.
