On Friday, April 5, 2024, the Mesquite Police Department was made aware of a potential inappropriate relationship between a teacher and student at Vanguard High School, part of the Mesquite ISD.
On Wednesday, April 10, 2024, the US Marshals Service North Texas Fugitive Task Force arrested Cesar Antonio Jimenez, a 32-year-old male from Midlothian, Texas.
Jimenez was charged with one count of Improper Relationship Between Educator and Student.
According to a letter sent to parents, Jimenez was a teacher in the Vanguard's automotive program. Jimenez resigned after learning of the investigation against him.
