Mansfield Police Department informs the public of a shooting incident on the east side of the city. Last night, around 9 p.m., officers responded to a shooting on Monticello Drive. Upon arrival, they found a man with a gunshot wound. The suspect had fled the scene before officers arrived. Despite life-saving measures initiated by officers, the man succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a nearby hospital.
Officers and detectives acted to apprehend the suspect, identified as Steven Foster, who was located in Midlothian. Foster has been arrested and charged with Murder, Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Tampering with Evidence.
The incident arose from a domestic dispute involving a female, an ex-fiancé, and an ex-boyfriend.
