The Irving Police Department hosted its Child Safety Seat Event on Saturday, May 11, 2024, offering crucial guidance on proper child safety seat installation to parents and caregivers. The event, provided free of charge, aimed to reduce injuries and fatalities in car crashes.
With the support of partners State Farm and Safe Kids Worldwide, the event was deemed a significant success. Thirty-nine families drove away with reassurance, as over 50 child seats were installed correctly. Additionally, numerous brand new seats were distributed to replace expired or unsuitable ones.
Expressing gratitude to their partners, the Irving Police Department highlighted its ongoing commitment to child safety. Certified child passenger safety technicians from the department are available year-round for seat inspections and to provide guidance on proper installation.
