On Thursday, May 23rd, 2024, Haltom City Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the parking lot of the Aldi located at 3173 Denton Highway.
Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Despite medical attention, the male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Haltom City Police Department is currently conducting a preliminary investigation. At this time, it is believed to be an isolated incident involving individuals known to each other. We have no reason to believe there is an ongoing threat to the greater community.
The identity of the deceased will be released by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office once next of kin notifications have been completed.

UPDATE: The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Eric Martiz Hill, Jr. of Hurst.
