Arlington Man Sentenced to 40 Years After Impregnating 12-Year-Old Victim
Defendant: Jesus Vazquez-Coronado

TARRANT COUNTY, TX – A Tarrant County jury has found 50-year-old Jesus Vazquez-Coronado guilty of Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child, sentencing him to 40 years in prison without the possibility of parole. The verdict and sentence were announced by the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office on Thursday, August 7.

The investigation began in April 2023 when an Arlington school P.E. teacher noticed that a 12-year-old student appeared to be pregnant. A doctor later confirmed the pregnancy.

According to police, the investigation revealed that Vazquez-Coronado was the father and had sexually assaulted the young girl multiple times. During the rapes, he strangled the girld and threatened to kill her and her family if she told anyone about the abuse.  He was arrested April 21, 2023 and has been incarcerated since then, held without bond.

The case was led by prosecutors Alec Trono and Madeline Jones. Detective Jonlee Martinez of the Arlington Police Department was the lead investigator that lead to the indictment. Victim Coordinator Clara Salvatierra provided critical emotional support to the victim.
