Fort Worth Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Assaulting Girlfriend

Fort Worth, TX — The Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday, August 26, that Terrell Lamont Franklin, 54, pled guilty to assaulting a family member with a previous conviction for the same offense. He was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The charges stem from a September 25, 2024, incident in Fort Worth. Prosecutors said Franklin was arguing with the woman he was dating when he struck her multiple times, causing significant injuries. Officers and EMTs responded to the scene, and the victim required immediate medical treatment.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Morgan Blair.
