FORT WORTH, TX — A 52-year-old man has been sentenced to 60 years in state prison after a Tarrant County jury convicted him of sexually assaulting two young girls over a span of years, prosecutors announced.
Terry Drake was found guilty on Thursday, July 23, 2026, of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Sexual Assault of a Child. Following the guilty verdicts, he was handed a 60-year prison term.
Decades of Abuse Disclosed to Authorities
The criminal investigation began in 2021 when two victims came forward to make formal disclosures of sexual abuse to Child Protective Services (CPS) and detectives with the Arlington Police Department.
According to evidence presented during the trial, Drake subjected the first victim to continuous sexual abuse starting when she was just four years old, with the assaults persisting until she reached 20 years of age.
The second victim reported that Drake began sexually assaulting her when she was 13 years old, with the abuse continuing until she turned 14.
Jury Conviction and Prosecution
The case was prosecuted on behalf of the State of Texas by Assistant District Attorneys Alec Trono and Steven Elliott.
After evaluating the evidence and testimony detailing the extensive history of abuse, the Tarrant County jury returned guilty verdicts on both felony counts before assessing the 60-year sentence in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
