FORT WORTH, Texas — A 64-year-old man has been sentenced to 53 years in prison after a Tarrant County jury found him guilty of aggravated sexual assault and indecency involving a young family member, officials announced.
Carlos Aguilera, 64, was found guilty of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact. Following the guilty verdict, the jury sentenced him to 33 years in prison for the aggravated sexual assault count and 20 years for the indecency count. The court ordered the two sentences to run consecutively, resulting in a total 53-year prison term.
Decades-Old Abuse Disclosed by Family Member
The investigation was initiated by the Arlington Police Department in 2023 after an adult woman came forward to report that Aguilera, a family member, had repeatedly sexually assaulted her throughout her childhood.
According to court testimony, the abuse began when the victim was five years old and continued until she was approximately 11. During the trial, prosecutors also introduced evidence showing that Aguilera had sexually assaulted a second female family member when she was a child.
Arrest and Prosecutorial Team
Aguilera was arrested on May 16, 2025, and held in custody continuously leading up to his trial. His initial arrest booking included two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14, one count of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, and seven counts of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact.
The case was prosecuted on behalf of the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office by Assistant District Attorneys Kassidy Durfee and Grayson Ezzell, with assistance from Madeline Wilson. DA Investigators Josh Neiswender and Annabelle Amon led the prosecution's investigative efforts alongside the Arlington Police Department.
