FORT WORTH, Texas - A Tarrant County jury has sentenced a 37-year-old man to 30 years in prison after convicting him of possessing a large quantity of narcotics and leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit.
According to prosecutors, 37-year-old Samarine Briscoe, was found guilty of Possession of More Than 400 Grams of a Controlled Substance and Evading Arrest or Detention with a Vehicle.
The case was investigated by a Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office. Lake Worth Police Department's Special Operations Unit also helped in the initial raid in trying to arrest Briscoe.
Pursuit Began on Jacksboro Highway
The charges stem from an incident on Nov. 10, 2025, when Tarrant County sheriff's deputies attempted to stop Briscoe on Jacksboro Highway.
Instead of stopping, prosecutors said Briscoe accelerated, struck a median, and threw narcotics from his vehicle as deputies pursued him.
The chase continued for approximately five miles before Briscoe crashed.
Drugs Recovered Along Pursuit Route
After the crash, Briscoe fled on foot but was chased down and arrested by a deputy.
Investigators found a bag of fentanyl inside Briscoe's vehicle.
Deputies then retraced the pursuit route and recovered a large bag containing approximately 460 grams of methamphetamine that had allegedly been thrown from the vehicle during the chase.
Following the jury's guilty verdict, Briscoe was sentenced to 30 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
