Dallas Gang Member Gets 90 Months for Armed Carjacking in Deep Ellum
DALLAS - A 23-year-old member of the Four Deuce Oakland Crips has been sentenced to 90 months in federal prison for an armed carjacking in Dallas' Deep Ellum entertainment district.
U.S. District Judge Brantley Starr sentenced Travion Williams on Sept. 16. Williams pleaded guilty June 3, 2025, to carjacking and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
According to federal prosecutors, Williams and two co-conspirators approached a victim and a companion as they returned to a 2020 Chevrolet Corvette parked near Elm Street on Dec. 6, 2023.
All three men were masked, and Williams brandished a Glock 19 pistol, according to court documents. The group forcibly took the victim's keys, wallet, cellphone and other belongings before fleeing in the Corvette.
Dallas Police officers later attempted to stop the stolen Corvette, but prosecutors said Williams fled at high speed before abandoning the vehicle beneath a bridge.
Williams ran into a nearby industrial area before Dallas officers apprehended him.
Federal authorities identified Williams as a member of the Four Deuce Oakland Crips.
"Armed gang members who hijack public spaces and terrorize citizens in North Texas will face federal consequences," U.S. Attorney Ryan Raybould said following the sentencing.
Williams' prosecution was part of Operation Blue Laces, an ATF-led initiative launched in January 2024 targeting gang activity along the Malcolm X Boulevard corridor in South Dallas.
Authorities said the operation was launched after residents reported Four Deuce Oakland Crip members were using storefronts to store firearms and distribute drugs. Investigators also identified what they described as an open-air drug market in the 2800 block of Casey Street, an area known locally as "the Dead End."
Federal prosecutors said 12 defendants associated with the Four Deuce Oakland Crips have been convicted of offenses including drug conspiracy, firearms violations and carjacking as part of the initiative.
ATF Dallas and the Dallas Police Department investigated the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Rick Calvert, chief of the Major Crimes Section, prosecuted Williams.
