Arlington Driver Gets 25 Years After 110-Mph Police Chase Into Grand Prairie

ARLINGTON, Texas - A 46-year-old man has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after a Tarrant County jury convicted him of fleeing Arlington police in a vehicle and reaching speeds of more than 110 mph during a chase into Grand Prairie.

Gregory Strickland was convicted of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, according to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney's Office.

The case stemmed from a July 30, 2025, encounter in Arlington. Prosecutors said police attempted to stop Strickland in connection with a stolen vehicle, but he refused to pull over.

Strickland instead entered the highway and accelerated to more than 110 mph as the pursuit continued through Arlington and into Grand Prairie, according to prosecutors.

The Arlington Police Department investigated the case.

During the punishment phase of the trial, jurors heard that Strickland had previously been convicted of a similar offense in Bell County. Prosecutors said his criminal history also included four other felony convictions.

The jury sentenced Strickland to 25 years in prison.

Assistant Criminal District Attorneys Morgan Moya and Mollie Mallin prosecuted the case.
