Post Partum Room 2

IRVING, Texas - Beautifully appointed postpartum rooms with Texas-inspired floral wall art, luxury suites and inviting patient and family spaces are among the enhancements unveiled as part of a $4 million transformation of the women’s unit at Medical City Las Colinas. Hospital leaders and colleagues celebrated the completion of the renovation with an official and symbolic “cord-cutting” ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

The newly remodeled post-partum rooms feature design elements thoughtfully selected to create a calming, peaceful environment that supports rest and recovery. Each room includes a dedicated workspace and an oversized loveseat that converts into a guest bed, providing added comfort and convenience for families. A luxury suite, which includes a patient room and a family living space,  is also part of the renovation.

The transformation also includes refreshed hallways, an enhanced visitor waiting area and a redesigned nurse’s station. Together, these spaces complement the high-quality clinical care and healing environment Medical City Las Colinas provides to women and newborns.

“Welcoming a new baby is one of life’s most meaningful moments and every family deserves a tranquil environment that feels safe, comfortable and supportive,” says Marcus Jackson, COO of Medical City Las Colinas. “We are proud to invest in a space that mirrors the compassion and expert care our team delivers in every action, every patient, every time.”

Women’s services are among Medical City Las Colinas’ fastest-growing specialty areas, reflecting strong demand and the need to continually expand capabilities and amenities. In 2025, more than 1,300 infants were delivered. Of those newborns, nearly 150 required specialized treatment in the Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

The completed renovation underscores the hospital’s continued commitment to meeting the needs of its growing patient population while delivering an outstanding care experience. Over five years, Medical City Healthcare has invested more than $1.7 billion in capital improvements, including building acquisitions and expansions, facility enhancements and leading-edge technology.
