Mavs Dominate the Spurs to take a 2-1 lead in their Playoff Series

An incredible game was played by the Mavs last night showing their true potential.  The defense stepped up and controlled Tony Parker to a tune of just 12 points compared to the 38 he scored in game 2.

Two minutes into the game, with the Mavericks leading 8-0, Popovich called for a timeout.  At that time, the game was basically over.  The Spurs could not match the Mavs energy and defense.  By the end of the third quarter, San Antonio had pulled their reserves and conceited the game, prefering to concentrate on game 4 coming up on Saturday.

The main difference is that Barea started the game as we (Irving Weekly) had previously suggested.  J.J. had 13 points and 7 assists.  His penetration unbalanced the Spurs, not being able to set their defense.  The Dirk we know was back and put it to Matt Bonner, who could do nothing to stop him.

Josh Howard gets credit for providing the team a boost.  From the onset, he showed the emotion that all Mav fans like to see.  He did not hesitate and went to the basket, in fact, one play summerizes the energy and heart the Mavs had when Terry drives for a layup, misses, and both Josh and Damp go up to finish the shot.  Dampier won that one with a powerful slam.

Game 3 is crucial and the Mavs need to defend their home court.
