Mavs Survive to Play Another Day

Mavs Survive to Play Another Day
Lead by superstar Dirk Nowtizki, the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Denver Nuggets in game 4 of their playoff series.  The final score was 119 - 117, but most importantly the game provided the Mavs with the confidence that they can actually win against the Nuggets.

Dirk was simply amazing in this game.  He scored 44 points on 14-25 shooting and 16-17 from the free-throw line, with 13 boards, 2 steals and 3 assists.

Josh Howard played the game of his life on two bad ankles that need rest badly.  He contributed 21 points, 11 rebounds and tough defense.

The bench did it's part with Jet Terry, Bass, and JJ Barea providing solid support offensively and defensively.

The Mavs were determined to not loose and they proved that they are definitely not a soft team.  They battled, they took the fouls, they dished out a few of their own and found that the Nuggets are mortal after all.  Even with Carmelo Anthony playing one of his best playoff games in his career, Billups being Billups, and the unbelievable luck of J.R. Smith (if you saw the game you know exactly what I mean), the Mavs were able to close it out.

They survived to play another day.  The day is Wednesday, local time 8:30 p.m.  It should be a great game with Nuggets fans looking for revenge after what they've been hearing of the few moronic Mavs fans that decided that it's ok to take it out on opposing player's family members.  The refs better be ready for this one and I suspect it will be officiated very tightly, similar to game 4.

Always count on the Mavs to make it an interesting and nail-biting ride.
