Irving Alumni Trevor Story Rewrites Baseball Record Book
In Opening Week of Major League Baseball (MLB) and his major league career, Irving’s very own Trevor Story is knocking it out of the park – literally. Story, the starting shortstop for the Colorado Rockies, became the first player to hit two home runs in an MLB debut that took place on Opening Day. The 2010 Irving High School graduate followed that with another homerun in the second game, becoming the first player to do so since Charlie Reilly in 1889. But he wasn’t finished there. Story hit another home run in the third game, becoming the first rookie to begin his career with homers in his first three games. Story hit a homerun for each of his first four career hits.
