Nimitz Bowling Team Competes at State

The Nimitz High School boys’ bowling team competed at the Texas High School Bowling Conference this weekend. The team placed second at the Region II tournament, and freshman Lane Thompson qualified for state in singles by placing in the top six at the regional tournament. At state, the team finished 23rd overall, and Thompson ranks 58th in the state. Members of the state-qualifying team are coach Orenthal Townsend, freshman Billy Snipes, junior Stephen Torres, freshman Tommy Snipes, assistant coach John Snipes, freshman Lane Thompson, senior Travis Snipes and senior Gerardo Herrera.
