MacArthur Downs Nimitz 21 - 10
After a hard loss at Grand Prairie the previous week, the Cardinals rebounded and defeated the Nimitz Vikings in a city rivalry game.
Mac was lead by running back James Sims, rushing for 232 yards and three touchdowns.
Sims, who has committed to Kansas, was the lone offensive bright spot for either team, scoring in each of the first three quarters for MacArthur (4-3, 1-2). Sims had 39 carries and 236 yards total offense, accounting for 79 percent of the yardage gained by MacArthur, which did not attempt a pass in the second half.
Nimitz has been playing well this season (6-2, 3-1) after a winless season last year. Their plans to secure a playoff berth were ruined by MacAarthur, but are still in good position in District 7-5A.
