Santoscoy Named "Athlete of the Week" as Wolves Meet District Rivals
Ranchview's swimming and diving team got a glimpse of what to expect at the district championship early next year by taking on the Rockwall squads in their new natatorium this week.
Junior Nicole Watson led the Wolfpack, establishing a new school record in the 100 butterfly, smashing the old mark by Naomi Muniz (1:09.66). It's Watson's third school record of the season in three meets.
Senior Starlene Lara just missed her own school record in the 100 breastroke, while the boys 200 free relay was very close to setting another school record as well. Both teams lost to Rockwall and Heath. For her outstanding work ethic and effort rebounding after suffering from the flu, sophomore Shelby Santoscoy was named the team's third "Athlete of the Week."
