Ranchview Take Care of Roosevelt 44-12
Ranchview Wolves (Irving, TX) fans left the game satisfied Thursday as they observed their football team rout the visiting Roosevelt Mustangs (Dallas, TX), 44-12 in a league test.
Xavier Williams scored three times, and Josh Lyda scored twice for Ranchview (4-4, 2-2 in District 11-3A) in a win over Roosevelt (0-9, 0-5) at Standridge Stadium. Williams had scoring runs of 1 and 28 yards and also caught a 63-yard touchdown pass.
Lyda's 48-yard run opened the scoring for Ranchview, which snapped a two-game losing streak. He added a 30-yard interception return in the final quarter.
Marcell Bennett and Broderick Finch accounted for Roosevelt's two scores, both coming on 1-yard runs. One bright spot for the visitors was the solid performance of wide receiver Corey Webb, who caught 9 passes for 139 yards.
With the win, Ranchview improves its record to 4-4 on the season. The Wolves travel to Castleberry (Fort Worth, TX) to confront the Lions in a 3A Region II District 11 matchup on Friday, October 30.
