Relay records smashed as wolves split in Prosper dual
The Wolves girls' swimming and diving squad produced a convincing victory over the Eagles of Prosper at home this week. Senior Nicole Watson finished second in her two tight races (50 Free and 100 Fly) to lead the team to a win (86-53). Junior Cinthya Ponce pitched in with a victory in the 200 IM. On the boys side, the return of freshman Kazuomi Motoike proved to be beneficial for the relays. The 200 medley foursome of Motoike, Cameron Leet, David Lee and Sinjin Venegas obliterated the previous school mark by seven seconds. The team assembled again later to shave four more seconds off the 200 Free mark. Venegas also picked up a second place finish in the 200 Free and third in the 500 Free. Despite some great performances, Prosper's boys team was too strong, winning 98-46. The girls' team improves to 11 wins and 14 losses, while the boys are 9-16. For her performances, Nicole Watson is named the team's fifth "Athlete of the Week". WAY TO GO!!!
