Venegas continues record STREAK as Wolves win 6 of 8 in quad dual
Ranchview's
Sinjin Venegas took his game to a new level this week, breaking his own
individual school record, and adding two more relay records as the
Wolves' swimming and diving team won 6 of their 8 matches at home,
hosting Lake Highlands, Trinity Christian Academy, Prestonwood Christian Academy
and Dallas First Baptist. Venegas started off the night by qualifying
for a large championship meet in the 200 Free, then smashed his own
mark in the 500 Free by another 10 seconds. The sophomore was joined by
freshman Kazuomi Motoike, sophomore Eric Armugan and sophomore David
Lee in breaking two more records in the 200 Free Relay and 400 Free
Relay. Junior Shelby Santoscoy was the top female performer, with two
third place finishes in the 200 Free and 500 Free. Senior Nicole Watson
was second in the 50 Free.
The girls' team posted victories over Lake Highlands
(73-64), TCA (95-10), PCA (86-41) and DFB (94-17) and improve to 15-14,
while the boys are 11-18 with wins over PCA (56-47) and FBA (56-32)
and narrow losses to Lake Highlands
(66-59) and TCA (57-54).. GREAT JOB WOLVES!!!
For his continued
improvement in practices and meets, including a 10 second drop in his
100 Free this week, sophomore David Lee is named the team's 6th "Athlete
of the Week"!
