Venegas continues record STREAK as Wolves win 6 of 8 in quad dual

Ranchview's Sinjin Venegas took his game to a new level this week, breaking his own individual school record, and adding two more relay records as the Wolves' swimming and diving team won 6 of their 8 matches at home, hosting Lake Highlands, Trinity Christian Academy, Prestonwood Christian Academy and Dallas First Baptist. Venegas started off the night by qualifying for a large championship meet in the 200 Free, then smashed his own mark in the 500 Free by another 10 seconds.  The sophomore was joined by freshman Kazuomi Motoike, sophomore Eric Armugan and sophomore David Lee in breaking two more records in the 200 Free Relay and 400 Free Relay.  Junior Shelby Santoscoy was the top female performer, with two third place finishes in the 200 Free and 500 Free.  Senior Nicole Watson was second in the 50 Free.

The girls' team posted victories over Lake Highlands (73-64), TCA (95-10), PCA (86-41) and DFB (94-17) and improve to 15-14, while the boys are 11-18 with wins over  PCA (56-47) and FBA (56-32) and narrow losses to Lake Highlands (66-59) and TCA (57-54).. GREAT JOB WOLVES!!!

For his continued improvement in practices and meets, including a 10 second drop in his 100 Free this week, sophomore David Lee is named the team's 6th "Athlete of the Week"!

Next Event: 5 athletes have qualified for the 4A TISCA Championship, Thursday, December 9-Saturday, December 11 @ Frisco.  Good luck to: Sinjin Venegas, Shelby Santoscoy, Nicole Watson, Cinthya Ponce and Sarah Rovi!
