Are You Rooting for a Cowboy Win or Loss?

Listening on sports radio throughout the week, I kept hearing the debates on why the Cowboys should go for a loss this last weekend of the season against the Eagles.

The basic argument is that the Cowboys should focus on next year and lose the most possible games to assure a higher draft pick.  The discussion itself is proof of the horrible season the "super bowl favorite" Dallas Cowboys are having.  That being said, it angers me that sports columnists want our home team to lose.  I don't care how unbiased or biased they want to be, you should never root for your home team to lose.   If you do, then you should move out of our city.

An athlete that has pride and integrity will always play to win.  These are traits that are obviously missing from these so-called sports "know-it-alls".

When asked if fans should root for a Cowboys loss, Kevin Sherrington (Dallas News) writes, "you're right to secretly root for a loss."  Hey Kevin, pack your bags, moron.  I don't care what pick we get this year or if Vick is playing or not, I want the Cowboys to cremate those stinking Philly Eagles.

I know for a fact that Jason Garrett is not thinking about the draft.  He is definitely going for a win. "Our focus is to stay in the moment and be great that particular day."  Garrett said.  I don't know if he is the right coach or not, but I like him and I love his attitude.

Another Dallas News columnist, Gerry Fraley, wrote a few days ago of how positive momentum can carry into the next season and that's why it is important for the Cowboys to finish strong.  Hey Fraley, do you sit near Sherrington?  If you do, could you go slap him upside his head?  I can't believe both of these guys work for the same paper.

The truth is...I hate it when the Cowboys lose.  I don't care how bad this season has gone, that loss to the Cardinals hurt and the way we lost make it worst.   Never, I mean, never, will I "secretly" root for a loss.  I have too much love for the game and this team to go that low.
