Irving goal scoring play

The MacArthur Boys soccer team faced off against their cross-town rival Irving High School last night at Irving Schools Stadium.

The MacArthur Junior Varsity took the victory with a final score of 2-1 in favor of the Cards. The goal scorers were forward Oscar "Avatar" Guidel on the 20th minute mark and forward Jordan "Pinky" Welch on the 85th minute mark. Both players are on a goal scoring streak as they also scored in last week's game against Richland.

The MacArthur Varsity squad had a heartbreaking loss to Irving High with a score of 0-1 in favor of the Tigers. The teams were evenly matched throughout the game and both came up with clear oportunities to score. MacArthur senior goalkeeper Bruno Diaz stayed busy the whole night making 10 saves. In the end, Irving took the "W" scoring in the 87th minute on a freekick 10 yards outside the box that was well-struck by Irving's captain #2 Edwin Villatoro.

"We played a great game game. In the end Irving finished their opportunities and we didn't." stated coach Powe.

The Cardinals' record is now 1-1-0 in district play.

MacArthur's next game is at ISS this Friday, January 28th at 7:15 PM against Colleyville Heritage.
