UFL Announces Player Dispersal Results: Arlington Renegades Secure 55 Players for 2024 Season

The United Football League (UFL) has concluded its initial player dispersal process ahead of the 2024 season, revealing the protected and selected players for each team.

In the process, every team from both the XFL Conference and USFL Conference protected 42 foundational players from their 2023 rosters. Subsequently, teams were allowed to choose up to 20 players from the rosters of teams from their previous league that would not be moving forward in 2024.

The Arlington Renegades, in particular, solidified their roster by securing a total of 55 players (42 foundational and 13 selected). Notably, they safeguarded XFL Championship Game MVP quarterback Luis Perez, who played a pivotal role in leading the Renegades to victory with 288 yards and three touchdowns in the championship game against the D.C. Defenders.

De’Veon Smith, the leading rusher, and defensive standout Donald Payne were also among the foundational players protected by the Renegades. In addition to their foundational picks, the team strategically chose 13 players from other XFL teams, with seven of them coming from the 2023 Houston Roughnecks roster. Wide receiver Deontay Burnett, who recorded six touchdowns in just nine games, and linebacker Vic Beasley of the Vegas Vipers were some of the key selections.

Players who were not protected or chosen in this initial process will enter a pool available for selection by any UFL team in a subsequent round of player dispersal scheduled for January 15.
