Woman Killed in After Being Ejected From Vehicle in Rhome

On Wednesday, October 2nd, at 8:28 p.m., a major accident occurred along northbound Highway 287, just north of Rhome city limits, involving a fatal head-on collision. A 52-year-old woman, driving southbound, veered into the median and collided with a northbound pickup truck. The woman was ejected and died at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

While responding to the crash, Wise County Sheriff’s deputy Lex Love was involved in a separate fatal accident a few miles north of the original scene. Both incidents remain under investigation by DPS Troopers and other agencies.
