On Saturday, October 26th, at approximately 3:10 p.m., Irving police responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Cowboys Parkway at the Waterford Apartments in Valley Ranch. Upon arrival, officers discovered one victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dallas County Medical Examiner will release the victim's identification when available.
Following the incident, a multi-agency search was initiated as witnesses reported seeing suspects flee the area. A heavy presence was reported at MacArthur Blvd and Beltline Rd and much of the search containment was within Coppell city limits.
A DPS helicopter was deployed to assist in the manhunt; however, no suspects have been located as of this time. The Irving Police Department has stated that this remains an active investigation.
UPDATE: The victim was identified as 18-year-old Cidrik Calhoune.
