Irving Man Arrested for Stalking Ex-Girlfriend After Assault, Threats and Property Damage
Max Perez

IRVING, Texas — A 28-year-old man was arrested after Irving police say he assaulted his ex-girlfriend, sent her threatening messages and repeatedly returned to her home, where he was captured on surveillance video damaging a vehicle and entering her room.

Max Perez, 28, was arrested October 26, 2026, and charged with burglary of a habitation, stalking and criminal mischief following a series of incidents involving his 38-year-old former girlfriend and members of her family.

According to Irving police records, the incidents began October 17 at approximately 7:16 p.m. outside the woman's home in the 2000 block of Canterbury Street.

Argument Inside Vehicle Turns Physical

The woman told investigators she was arguing with Perez inside his vehicle, which was parked in front of her residence, when the confrontation became physical.

According to her statement, Perez grabbed her shoulders and hair, leaving scratches and redness on her cheek and neck.

She managed to escape from the vehicle and run inside her home. Perez then left the location.

Following the confrontation, Perez allegedly began sending numerous threatening and derogatory text messages to the woman, prompting her to block his phone number.

Irving police initiated a stalking investigation.

Surveillance Video Shows Suspect Breaking Car Window With Pole

Two days later, on October 19, at approximately 7:23 a.m., security cameras at the Canterbury Street residence recorded a man identified as Perez approaching a blue 2008 Toyota Camry parked in the driveway.

The vehicle belonged to the victim's sister.

According to investigators, the footage showed Perez repeatedly striking the car's window with a pole until it broke.

The damage to the vehicle was estimated at $3,850.

Later that morning, another security camera in the backyard captured Perez allegedly entering the victim's room, which was attached to the rear of the home.

The woman told officers that Perez removed clothing belonging to her and their child.

Police records indicate that the damage to the victim's property exceeded $2,500.

The victim's sister provided investigators with both surveillance recordings.

Detectives observed that the suspect appeared to be wearing the same black hoodie and blue jeans in both videos. They also identified a distinctive tattoo on the top of his left hand that matched Perez's tattoo.

Threatening Messages Continue After Victim Blocks Phone Number

On October 20, the woman provided Irving police with screenshots of threatening Instagram messages she said Perez had sent after she blocked his phone number.

Three days later, on October 23, she reported another incident involving damage to a family member's vehicle.

The woman told officers she had been staying with another sister because she was afraid to remain at her own home.

While staying there, she believed Perez had broken a window on that sister's vehicle as well.

Both women reported the incident to Irving police.

Investigators determined that Perez had allegedly engaged in a repeated course of conduct directed at his former girlfriend that caused her to fear bodily harm or damage to property belonging to her or her family.

Suspect Faces Three Felony Charges, $22,000 Bond

Perez was arrested October 26 and booked into the Irving Jail.

He faces the following charges:

Police also discovered that Perez had four outstanding misdemeanor warrants from the Dallas Police Department related to traffic violations.

His bond was set at $22,000.
