Woman Wanted for Theft in West Texas Injures Irving Police Officer During Arrest
Amanda Eberhard

IRVING, Texas — A 27-year-old woman arrested in North Irving on an outstanding theft warrant from West Texas faces an additional felony charge after police say she kicked an officer who was attempting to restrain her inside a patrol vehicle.

Amanda Eberhard, 27, was arrested October 22, 2026, at approximately 10:34 a.m. in the 3400 block of Chime Street in North Irving.

According to Irving police, Eberhard had an outstanding theft warrant issued in Nolan County, located in west-central Texas, where Sweetwater serves as the county seat.

Officers took Eberhard into custody on the warrant and placed her in the back of a patrol vehicle.

Police Say Woman Repeatedly Kicked Patrol Vehicle

While seated in the patrol vehicle, Eberhard became combative and repeatedly kicked the vehicle's interior, according to police.

Officers instructed her several times to stop, but she continued kicking.

Police said the force of her movements raised concerns that she could injure herself or the officers.

To prevent further kicking, officers decided to apply leg restraints.

As one officer attempted to secure the restraints, Eberhard kicked downward, striking the officer's right forearm and hand.

The officer suffered an abrasion to his right forearm.

Suspect Faces Second-Degree Felony Assault Charge

Officers successfully applied the leg restraints and transported Eberhard to the Irving Jail, where she was booked.

In addition to the outstanding Nolan County theft warrant, Eberhard was charged with assault of a peace officer, a second-degree felony.
