Donovan Laroda

IRVING, Texas — A 27-year-old professional esports player known in the competitive Call of Duty community as "Temp" was arrested in Irving on October 14, 2026, following an investigation into an alleged domestic violence assault that left his girlfriend with severe head injuries and brain trauma.

Donovan Alexander Laroda, 27, was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury involving domestic violence, a second-degree felony, following an incident that reportedly occurred August 30, 2026, at the Calloway at Las Colinas apartments in the 7300 block of Parkridge Boulevard.

According to information from the Irving Police Department investigation, the case came to authorities' attention around 4 a.m. October 14, when a woman called 911 to report that a friend had disclosed being assaulted by her boyfriend.

The caller told authorities that the victim identified Laroda as the person who attacked her.

Victim Reported Repeated Blows to Head and Face

According to the witness who contacted police, the victim disclosed that Laroda repeatedly kicked her in the face and head during the August 30 incident, causing severe injuries.

The victim also sent the witness photographs dated August 30 showing significant bleeding from her forehead and nose.

The victim sought hospital treatment the same day. According to the investigative account, an MRI revealed severe brain trauma and scarring.

Irving police investigators subsequently contacted the victim at her apartment in Las Colinas.

The woman told investigators that she and Laroda were at their residence when he became intoxicated and knocked her to the ground.

She reported that Laroda repeatedly assaulted her while she was on the ground. Because of the force of the blows and her disorientation, she could not determine exactly what he used to strike her.

Investigators documented injuries that included significant damage to her forehead, a large laceration on her chin and a chipped tooth. The victim attributed the injuries to the August 30 assault.

Based on the reported injuries, including serious permanent disfigurement and brain trauma that investigators said created a substantial risk of death, Laroda was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

Irving police located and arrested Laroda the morning of October 14.
