Young Drug Dealer Arrested in Valley Ranch Drug Raid; Codeine, Xanax Seized
IRVING, Texas — A 19-year-old Irving man faces three first-degree felony drug charges and a misdemeanor following an undercover narcotics investigation that led police to raid an apartment in the Valley Ranch neighborhood.
Michael Edward Negrete, 19, was arrested Tuesday, October 20, 2026, after investigators with the Irving Police Department Narcotics Unit and Tactical Unit executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 100 block of Cowboys Parkway.
According to police records, officers entered the apartment at approximately 4:20 p.m. and detained Negrete, who was inside the residence.
During a search of his bedroom, investigators discovered 1,920.4 grams of liquid containing promethazine and codeine, distributed among four bottles labeled "Promethazine Hydrochloride and Codeine Phosphate Oral Solution."
Officers also recovered 3.5 grams of alprazolam, commonly known by the brand name Xanax, in the form of white, bar-shaped pills.
Investigators reported finding documents bearing Negrete's identifying information and personal belongings inside the bedroom.
Undercover Drug Purchases Led to Search Warrant
The search followed an undercover investigation in which Negrete had reportedly negotiated the sale of promethazine with codeine and Xanax to an Irving police officer working undercover.
According to investigators, the undercover officer had previously purchased Xanax pills from Negrete as part of the investigation.
Evidence gathered during those transactions helped investigators obtain a search warrant from a judge, leading to the October 20 raid.
Three First-Degree Felony Charges Filed
Negrete was taken into custody and booked into the Irving Jail.
He faces four criminal charges:
-
Manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance, Penalty Group 1
-
Delivery of marijuana
-
Two counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance
According to the provided case information, three of the charges are classified as first-degree felonies, while the marijuana delivery charge is a misdemeanor.
