Karen Turner

Karen Lynn Turner passed away on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 in Irving, TX. Karen was born to her parents Joe Francis Turner and Mary Elizabeth Oates Turner in Bonham, TX. She was a member of the first graduating class from MacArthur High School in 1967. With the school opening up in 1964 with only 8th and 9th grade classes, the students in the 9th grade remained the upper classmen all throughout their high school experience. As the upper classmen, they established many of the schools traditions.

Karen loved singing gospel and fishing. She was an avid collector, especially of cookbooks, having over 700 of them. She also collected clear crystal sugar and creamer sets, as well as collecting all things related to hummingbirds.

Karen is preceded in death by her mother. Left to cherish her memory is her father, Joe F. Turner; brother, Ron Turner and wife Jan; niece, Jennifer Justison and partner Jason Ankrom; nephew, David Turner and partner Eric Williston; and great niece and nephew, Samantha and Ryan Youngblood.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, November 11th, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Brown’s Memorial Funeral Home located at 707 North MacArthur Blvd., Irving, TX 75061. Graveside services will be held for Karen on Friday, November 12th at 1:00 PM at Bear Creek Cemetery located at 100 Bear Creek Cemetery Road, Euless, TX 76039
