Truck Hits Power Lines in Euless, Causes Extensive Outage and Road Closure

On Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 3:08 PM, emergency crews responded to a major accident at 200 W. Harwood Rd in Euless. A truck/tractor vehicle exiting a private business struck live power lines suspended above the road, causing significant damage.

Approximately six power poles were damaged in the incident, resulting in power outages for nearby homes and businesses. Authorities immediately contacted North Euless Elementary School, requesting a delay in dismissal times to ensure student safety. No injuries have been reported at this time.

According to ONCOR Electric Delivery officials on the scene, most affected areas are expected to have power restored within about one hour. However, residents of the Pointe at Fair Oaks apartments, located at 301 Fair Oaks Blvd in Euless, are anticipated to experience a much longer power restoration period due to their direct connection to the damaged power lines. The estimated restoration time for data and communications services is currently unknown.

Both directions of W. Harwood Rd are now CLOSED between N. Main St and Aransas Dr. Officials estimate that repairs will take over 12 hours to complete, and the roadway will remain closed during this time. Motorists in the area are advised to use alternate routes to navigate around the closure and access nearby neighborhoods and businesses.
