Dallas Police Recruit Arrested on Drug and Weapons Charges

Dallas police recruit Asher King was arrested on November 24 by the Garland Police Department on charges of possessing THC and unlawfully carrying a weapon. King, who joined the department in June and is currently assigned to the Dallas Police Academy, has been placed on administrative leave while an internal investigation moves forward.

Chief Daniel Comeaux said the department expects every member, including recruits, to uphold the law and the standards of the profession. He emphasized that conduct violating those expectations will not be tolerated and that the community deserves integrity from every person who represents the department.
