GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – The Grand Prairie Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that happened Wednesday evening, December 3rd, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 287 and Prairie Ridge Boulevard.
Police say the collision occurred around 5:40 p.m. when a Toyota passenger car traveling north on Highway 287 attempted to make a left turn onto Prairie Ridge Boulevard. As the Toyota turned, it was struck by a Ford truck heading southbound.
Both people in the Toyota and the driver of the Ford were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The passenger in the Toyota later died from those injuries and was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased. The Ellis County Medical Examiner’s Office will do so once next of kin have been notified.
Investigators say no charges are expected. The crash remains under investigation.
