FORT WORTH, Texas — A Tarrant County jury has sentenced a 29 year old man to 15 years in prison after finding him guilty of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury in a 2024 attack on a woman he was dating.
Twight Peaks was convicted last week in connection with the April 28, 2024 incident, which prosecutors said began as an argument that quickly escalated into a violent assault.
According to investigators, Peaks placed the woman in a chokehold while biting her ear and neck during the confrontation. Authorities said he then swung the woman to the ground, causing severe injuries to her hip.
After the assault, the victim was transported to a hospital where doctors performed surgery to repair the injury. Medical staff inserted a metal plate and screws to stabilize her hip.
Fort Worth police officers investigated the case.
The case was prosecuted by Nicole O’Doherty and Shelbi Stogdill.
