Experience Peruvian Culture in Irving

The Peruvian Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Cup 2014 takes place this Friday and Saturday, May 16 – 17 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at the Las Colinas Equestrian Center, 600 E. Royal Lane, Irving 75039. Peruvian Horses, known as “the Rolls Royce of horses” for their smooth gait, will show off their unique personality and skills throughout the weekend:

Friday, May 16, 6:30 – 9:30 p.m.:A Night in Peru

Champagne Challenge: Riders hold a glass of champagne while riding around obstacles.

Texas Ladies Aside Drill: Women riders in long dresses and hats ride sidesaddle to demonstrate the smoothness of the horse

 Marinera Dance: A traditional Peruvian couples’ dance – but the dance partners will be a stallion with a male rider and woman on foot in the ring.

Adults ride on Friday; Juniors are on Saturday morning; and Championships will be held Saturday afternoon. Horses and riders compete in contests for smoothness of gait, conformation and beauty, and performance around obstacles.

 

Test Drive a Peruvian

Make a donation and test ride a Peruvian.
