Heritage Senior Center offers classes in Tai-Chi for seniors on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 10:40 a.m. The class is followed by a class in Qi Gong from 10:45 to 11:20 a.m. The exercises in both sessions help with balance and stability, as well as stress reduction and alertness. The fee is $5 per month and covers both classes. Participants can attend either one or both days. You must be 50 or older to participate and be a current member at Heritage Senior Center. Heritage Senior Center is proud to host its Red, White and Blue Patriotic Bash to celebrate the 4th of July. The party will be held Friday June 30th, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Admission is open to seniors and their families. Entertainment will include the New Horizons Symphonic Band, the Heritage Steppers, and the Heritage Tappers. Pie and ice cream will also be served. Heritage Senior Center is searching for contestants for the 35th Annual Ms. Mature Irving Pageant. Contestants must be 60 years or older, and must have lived in Irving for at least one year. This is our 35th year of honoring senior women, it’s bound to be special! Applications are Due Monday, July 10 by 5 p.m. Rehearsals Begin Friday July 14th, 2:30 – 4:30 p.m. and will be held every Friday until the show on October 6. Heritage Senior Center announces auditions for its choir, The Heritage Singers. This is a choir for men and women aged 50 and older. The group performs at Heritage Senior Center, area retirement communities, nursing homes, and civic clubs. Interested singers can audition Monday evenings between 6:45 and 7 p.m..
