Playtime is getting a brand new look for students at Johnston Elementary School, thanks to a partnership between Irving ISD and the City of Irving. City and district officials recently completed renovations at Johnston Elementary School’s playground.
From life-size animals to wall climbers, the district worked with architects and engineers to incorporate student ideas in the process. The result - themed play areas with top-of-the-line equipment sure to keep children of all ages active and engaged. The renovations are part of the city’s Capital Improvement Program which invested more than $700,000 to install and replace old playground equipment.
A formal ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled to commemorate the project on wednesday, March 6th @ 9 a.m.
