TPPF’s Right on Immigration: Admin Should Include Citizenship on Census

Today, Right on Immigration, an initiative of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, issued a statement regarding the Supreme Court’s decision to remand the ability of the Commerce Department to add a citizenship question to the national census for further administrative proceedings.

“It is of obvious importance for the Executive Branch to determine who is and is not a citizen through the census process. The good news is that the Supreme Court recognized the legality of the citizenship question. The Commerce Department has the opportunity to again make the wise case for including a citizenship question on the census,” said TPPF’s General Counsel Robert Henneke. “It’s unfortunate that this is even a question, much less a controversial one. America has for most of its history followed this practice and should continue to do so.”
