The Bedford Police Department informed the public of a new phone scam. A 77 year-old citizen called police after he received a suspicious phone call. The caller stated that she had a $35 credit on their Doctor's office account and needed a credit card number so they could credit that amount back.
The citizen was smarter than the criminal caller in this case. She hung up the phone and called her Doctor' office; and found out there was not credit.
Police detectives warn never to give out personal information over the phone.
