The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a road rage incident that escalated to a shooting this morning on Interstate 30 in east Fort Worth.
At 8:36 am, Fort Worth police responded to the eastbound lanes of I30 near Cooks Lane for a person shot. Eyewitnesses reported a road rage incident where one vehicle was shooting at another. The victim pulled over and jumped the concrete barrier onto the opposing side of the highway trying to get help.
Several drivers stopped to assist the victim who was laying on the highway.
MedStar EMS transported the victim to a local hospital in critical condition.
All lanes of eastbound I30 were closed while Fort Worth police investigated the scene.
Many residents in the area received a Public Safety Alert on their phone regarding the closure.
