Earlier this morning, the Arlington Police Department issued a CLEAR Alert through the Texas Department of Public Safety regarding the imminent danger of a 20-year-old woman taken against her will. The CLEAR Alert bulletin is posted below. This bulletin was sent to departments across the state of Texas.
At around 1:30pm, a Fort Worth police officer spotted the suspect vehicle. Additional officers attempted to stop the suspect, but he took off and led them on a pursuit.
The pursuit went down East Loop 820 to I20, I20 into Grand Prairie, 360 into Mansfield, northbound on 287 to I20, westbound I20 to southbound I35W, and ended at southbound I35W near Hidden Creek Parkway in the Burleson area.
The suspect drove erratically during the pursuit, topping 100MPH at times. We posted a play-by-play on our Facebook and Twitter pages.
A Fort Worth officer successfully deployed spikes along southbound I35W which helped to slow down and render the suspect’s vehicle inoperable. It was at this time that officers were able to arrest the suspect.
The kidnapping victim is safe in police custody. She was assessed by paramedics as a precaution.
