Child Shot in Fort Worth Drive-By Shooting

The Fort Worth Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting in the 2800 block of Avenue I near Beach and Rosedale streets.

Police responded to the home around 8:20 p.m., Nov. 28.

A 10-year-old boy was shot inside of a residence after a drive-by shooting. The juvenile male sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg after a suspect or group of suspects drove up and fired multiple shots into the house.

The boy's grandmother told WFAA that the bullet that struck her grandson came through the wall and into the back of the couch, striking him as his mother tried to get everyone out of harm's way.

MedStar transported him to Cook Children’s in good condition.

There is no suspect in custody at this time. The Gun Violence Unit will be responsible for the investigation.

This incident remains under investigation.

Police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477. Callers can remain anonymous and may receive a cash reward of up to $5,000 if the tip leads to an arrest.
