Tragedy struck during a police chase in Fort Worth on Wednesday as a suspect vehicle crashed, resulting in the death of a 15-year-old driver and leaving two others injured. Authorities reported that the incident occurred when the pursued vehicle lost control, collided with a pole, and subsequently rolled over. The pursuit had commenced after Fort Worth police suspected the vehicle to be stolen.
The pursuit unfolded in the afternoon hours near Altamesa Boulevard and Will Rogers Boulevard. Amid the high-speed chase, the suspect vehicle veered out of control, crashing into a pole with considerable force. Additionally, the vehicle collided with another unrelated vehicle during the chaotic turn of events.
According to law enforcement officials, three individuals were ejected from the suspect vehicle due to the impact of the crash. Tragically, the 15-year-old girl behind the wheel succumbed to her injuries at the scene. The conditions of the two other occupants, who were promptly transported to a hospital, remain unknown at this time.
As investigations into the incident are ongoing, authorities have expressed the intention to scrutinize the actions of the pursuing officers to determine whether proper department protocols were followed during the pursuit.
