Lightning Strike at Fort Worth Public Safety Training Center Injures Cadet and Firefighters

A lightning strike struck the Fort Worth Public Safety Training Center located at 505 Felix Street this morning at approximately 10:30 am, resulting in injuries to a cadet and two firefighters.

According to Fort Worth police, one of their cadets was possibly struck by the lightning in the ankle. The injured cadet was swiftly transported to a local hospital by MedStar EMS. The cadet's injuries are considered potentially serious, but he is currently in good condition.

Following the lightning strike, two firefighters reported experiencing a tingling sensation. They were evaluated by EMS at the scene but did not require hospitalization. Despite their ordeal, both firefighters have chosen to remain on duty.

The incident remains under investigation.
