In the late hours of July 3rd, chaos descended upon the Como neighborhood near 3400 Horne Street as a large gathering of several hundred people was marred by gunfire. The Fort Worth Police Department swiftly responded to reports of shots fired, arriving at the scene at approximately 11:40 p.m.
Upon their arrival, officers were met with a distressing scene. Multiple shooting victims were discovered in a parking lot, surrounded by a flurry of panicked onlookers. In the midst of the ensuing chaos, several shooting victims were urgently transported to nearby hospitals by private vehicles, while others were rushed by ambulance to receive medical treatment.
Tragically, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel, adding a chilling note of finality to the night's events. As investigations continue, the police have identified a total of 11 shooting victims, with three individuals tragically losing their lives and eight others currently receiving medical attention at local hospitals, their conditions as yet unknown.
Authorities have determined that the majority of the victims, numbering at 10, were adults, while one individual was a juvenile. The exact circumstances leading up to the gunfire and the identities of the victims have not been released at this time.
