In the early hours of Wednesday, July 5, 2023, a Fort Worth man arrived at Harris Hospital (Downtown) seeking treatment for a gunshot wound and injuries sustained during a physical assault. The incident occurred in a parking lot near Maestro Tacos, located at 3011 Bledsoe Street, in the West 7th Street corridor.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD), officers were dispatched to Harris Hospital at approximately 1:16 am in response to a report of a male victim who had arrived by private vehicle. The victim, an adult male, had suffered a single gunshot wound to his right foot. He stated that he had been accompanied by his girlfriend when three unknown adult males approached them in the parking lot.
The victim recounted that two of the suspects brandished firearms and demanded his belongings, initiating a robbery. In the midst of the robbery, one of the suspects fired a gunshot, striking the victim in the right foot. Subsequently, all three suspects began physically assaulting the victim. Despite their attempts, the assailants were unsuccessful in taking any of the victim's possessions and fled the scene on foot.
Following the incident, the victim was promptly transported to Harris Hospital (Downtown) via a private vehicle in order to seek necessary medical treatment. Recognizing the severity of the situation, the FWPD has called upon the expertise of the Robbery Unit detective to assist in the ongoing investigation.
